Thanks for your help. I was debating on getting a Oculus Quest 2 and Half-Life Alyx, but I don't want to spend a few hundred if I'm not going to have a good experience with it. I just bought a Quest 2 a few days ago and have been playing HLA wirelessly from Steam on my PC. Works great. A link cable would probably be an even better experience.

Try with cable to narrow down if wireless streaming issue or other issue. If still does it over wired then following might help. Alyx uses a dynamic resolution scale so will lower resolution on the fly to keep frame rate at 90fps but there are tweaks to help. Switch to 72hz & see if issue solved.

As the Quest 3 retains the Quest Link and Air Link capability from the Quest 2 it will allow PCVR play. As to the improvement over the stand alone capability I'd have thought that's a given assuming you have a high end PC and graphics card. i do my spec is 3090 13900k 32 gig of ram at 6400. #4.
I don't know what native resolution means, the physical resolution of the quest 2 is 1832x1920 per eye but the render resolution goes up to a maximum of what you have it set to. Index apparently has a 1440x1600 res per eye. I have a 2080 and play Alyx at 80hz and x2100 on ultra settings on my quest2. That is usually what my pc can handle on
