So like after a couple assassinations in Venice you will find a tomb. After another one another tomb will be revealed.

Afterwards I acquired the Altair armor and equipped it. Near the end of the game, I tried switching back to the basic white, and nothing changed. The colors stayed the same, and it didn't even do the thing where Ezio disappears for a second and reappears in his new color.
